Arturo Fuente Fuente Opus X 20th Anniversary

Arturo Fuente Opus X 20th Anniversary

Arturo Fuente Opus X 20th Anniversary Cigar is a super-premium cigar limited edition. It is packed firmly in a dark brown wrapper. It's quite oily, very soft nice buttery texture. From the wrapper, you will get a sweet cedar aroma. The wrapper of the cigar is quite captivating. Opus X has a tendency to go longer than others.
It is silky smooth, with very creamy textured dry leather and a bit of pepper coming in through the finish, but it's pretty mild. It's just a little bit of the flavor. Overall a big blast of leather dominates the medium-bodied pretty short finish. It's already fading now but extremely smooth you can taste the texture from aged tobacco. It's a unique experience.
In the first third, again, a super smooth smoke. The only change is the body up just to tick. It very quickly fades but right there during the drawing medium to fall, plenty of flavors coming off of it. It's tapering down very fast. It's a rather short, clean finish. There is no harshness, unlike almost all Opus X rolls out there. This is smooth on the retro rail if you believe it. There is no bit and no spice, even no zing, just a soft black pepper flavor, more so on the finish. There is also a sweet cherry note at the beginning of the draw that mixes very well with the still dry leather. It's a very nice combo.
In the second third, the flavor is still flawless. Flavors are getting more interesting in the core Opus X profile than you would expect. Leather is still dominating in the draw notes. There is also a nice sweet cream. Both creamy texture and flavor come in with that leather. The pepper taste is growing. It's not big, and it's not bold. Its way more than it was for the first half of the stick. One thing that there is a growing spice more so on the finish, which is now nice and long-lasting well. It got a great burn that I was expecting from an expensive stick.
After one hour and 25 minutes in smoke going pretty warm, so this is where I will call it good. Minor changes in the last third of all, there is a little bit of a strength coming in. It's mild to medium, so it's good for anybody. You will definitely feel that the flavors have shifted, the leathers gone replaced by kind of the signature Fuente taste that deep, slightly zingy wood note it's heavy it is dense, and it stays all the way through the finish. Sweetness has definitely dialed back a bit, too, but it's still there in the background of the draw. Pepper and spicy also took a nosedive, and the sweetness when it tapers off through the finish gives a bitter aftertaste. Pepper is still there. You can still taste it, but it's not dominating. The retro hill is back to being what I would call smooth. It gives a little bit of a bite through the halfway point. Spice is just in a tiny bit amount. Overall it's a very pleasant experience. Arturo Fuente Opus X 20th Anniversary is not a typical Opus X power pepper, so if you are looking for something like that, definitely check it out. It's kind of like an annai hose but with more flavor and more of the core went a flavor.
