The makers of Padron Cigars create their cigars to make them a part of the most important moments of their customers. To fulfill this desire they are devoted in making specially hand crafted cigars full of rich Cuban flavors since 1964. They opened their first headquarter in Miami but now they produce the cigars in their Nicaraguan factory where every step of the manufacturing process, starting from the selection and cultivation of Cuban-seed super premium tobaccos to the rolling and final inspection of every cigar, is overseen to ensure absolute consistency and quality.
They have produced various series of cigars like Padron 1964 Cigars, Padron 1926 line, Padron Family Reserve, Padron Cigar Samplers and more recently Padron Damaso, a much milder blend that uses a Connecticut wrapper and uses a not box pressed format that is very characteristic of their cigars.
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Mr. José Orlando Padrón, patriarch of the family, the company has released the Padrón Serie 1926 No. 90 in Maduro and Natural during the 2016 IPCPR in Las Vegas Nevada. The cigars has had a lot of fallowing since the cigar is a new type of Padron. Why Padron Cigars are top five cigar manufacturers?
Ask any knowledgeable cigar person to name their top five cigar manufacturers, and Padrón will more often than not come up in the conversation. Why? It’s because their commitment to producing top-tier quality cigars is obvious. From top to bottom on the price scale, their products deserve to be included in the highest echelon of cigars, utilizing top grade tobaccos, skillful blending, and excellent construction.
What is the history of Padrón Cigars?
José Padrón started his company in Miami’s Little Havana in 1964 before moving operations to Nicaragua in 1970. The company has suffered through a number of calamitous events, including having its Miami bombed several times, and the destruction of its Nicaraguan factory in 1978. Through it all, Padrón cigars have been consistently lauded and highly sought after. José Padrón passed away at the age of 91 in 2017, and Padrón is now run by his son Jorge.
I have heard that Padrón cigars are on the strong side. Will they be too strong for someone who prefers a mild to medium cigar?
Although Padrón has a reputation for full-bodied, full-strength cigars, they do make some cigars that fall into the mild to medium range, such as the Connecticut wrapped Damaso. The Padrón Series in natural wrapper is medium-bodied, as well. Besides that, the other cigars are very well balanced and can be enjoyed by most smokers.
What Padrón cigar lines should I try out?
All of them? While the 1964 Anniversary Series and the 1926 Serie should rightfully be on every serious cigar smoker’s list, the Padrón Series offers great value and flavor in more of an “everyday” price range.
Why Padrón cigars?
In the pantheon of cigar producers, Padrón is right there among the most revered. Tobacco selection, blending, and construction are top-tier, resulting in flavorful and well balanced smokes. If you have not yet tried them, you owe it to yourself to do so!
