History of Perdomo Cigars
The Perdomo cigar legacy traces its roots back to Silvio Perdomo, the family's grandfather and esteemed patriarch. Don Silvio began his apprenticeship at Cuesta and Cia in 1930, honing his craft until 1937, and later joining the renowned H. Upmanns factories. In 1945, he embarked on a new chapter at the legendary Partagás plant in Havana, where he dedicated his skills until 1959.
Following his father's footsteps, Nick Perdomo commenced his apprenticeship in 1947 at the prestigious cigar factory, for Marin & Trujillo. Nick earned the admiration and respect of fellow artisans with his father's visit to Partagas. By 1957, Cuba was at the precipice of significant changes, altering its fortunes in unimaginable ways.
During the cigar boom, Nick also introduced the line of Perdomo Squared cigars, quickly gaining popularity in the U.S. market as one of the first box-pressed cigars. This remarkable success significantly contributed to the exponential growth of the company. In 1995, Nick Perdomo Jr. made a significant move by acquiring his first cigar factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. With the invaluable assistance of his father, Nick Perdomo Sr., who had retired to Estelí, and his brother Antonio, the Perdomo Cigars S.A Premium Cigars factory was established, marking an exciting new chapter in the company's illustrious history. Meanwhile, sales at the Miami factory were rapidly reaching a boiling point, further propelling the unstoppable momentum.
