Asylum 13 880 Maduro is a combined venture by Tom Lazuka, Kevin Baxter and Christian Eiroa. Released in 2012 IPCPR, the Asylum 13 is the fullest of the three blends launched of Asylum Cigars. The cigar is gracefully hand-rolled in a dark barber-pole style Nicaraguan and Candela wrappers that cloaks a blend of Cuban seed long filler secured in a well-aged Nicaraguan binder. The result is an enticing aroma and a perfectly-balanced flavour with hints of soft spices, cocoa, charred tobacco, earth and sweet nuances. The Asylum 13 880 Maduro is massive, with the vitola being of 8 x 80 size and available in a pack of 21 cigars. Better Than You May Expect

Posted by JD Allen on Jul 21, 2015

It's not every day that most men will be smoking an 80-ring cigar. Many men will be put-off by these specs, and wonder "why bother?" Is there such a thing as "too much of a good thing"? Yep, there probably is. I was surprised that the Asylum 13 880 was not impossible to smoke. The draw was very decent, and it did not give me lock-jaw. The quality of the cigar is very in-keeping with any products from the Asylum line--which is to say they are good. I don't expect these to become anyone's "every day cigar," but some men will enjoy the occasional experience.
